Sydney-based Techlink Entertainment International Limited tops list of Fastest Growing Companies

April 14, 2010

Halifax, NS. - Progress Magazine releases its 2010 list of Atlantic Canada's Fastest Growing Companies on April 14 at the Crown Plaza Moncton. Now in its 12th year, this highly anticipated ranking highlights companies that are setting the pace for the evolution of Atlantic Canada's economy. These organizations have seen significant increases in revenues over three years, a period of time that was affected by some of the most volatile economic conditions the world has seen in recent memory.

John Xidos, CEO of No. 1-ranking Techlink Entertainment says, "This is a special ranking. It says a lot about our company, products, and successes. More importantly it speaks to the dynamism of our people. They're trend setters all of them - exceptional, in fact."

"The Fastest Growing Company survey reveals what's on the mind of the region's fast-growth entrepreneurs," says Pamela Scott Crace, editor of Progress. "By and large these companies are servicing international markets with niche products and using strategic marketing and customer-service techniques to build market share. This year's list is one of the most export-focused, internationally oriented group of companies that we've seen."

The further benefit of the survey is that it reveals the issues that are challenging the region's business growers. Not surprisingly, the most pressing issue continues to be the broad spectrum of human resources-mainly finding the right skilled people-as organizations strive to scale up product and service offerings, and put formalized systems and processes in place while managing the demands of their fast-paced environments, says Scott Crace.

Three of this year's top five companies are newcomers to the list. There are 12 newcomers out of the 27 companies that qualified for this year's ranking. Rounding out the list are 18 other companies from Nova Scotia, six from New Brunswick, and two from Newfoundland and Labrador. Three of the top five are from Nova Scotia and two are from Newfoundland.
Techlink's John Xidos looks forward to continuing the goal of carving out Techlink's share of a $1.5 trillion dollar global market for responsible gaming technologies and products from their Sydney, N.S. headquarters. "We're breaking new ground," he says. "We're taking new directional steps within a global industry armed with a shared vision and a lot of passion."
