(Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada) - Techlink Entertainment, a pioneer in Responsible Gaming technologies, announced today a major milestone with the gambling industry’s largest principal body, the Gaming Standards Association (GSA). The GSA has adapted its membership segments to include Responsible Gaming with Techlink leading the segment as a Platinum member. This advancement recognizes the importance and necessity for standards relating to the entertainment gaming industry and social responsibility.
Gaming has grown exponentially globally. The market has moved away from being primarily unregulated to a highly controlled source of revenue for governments globally. Most people enjoy gaming without problems. However, small percentages develop addictions and have a difficult time managing their gambling habits.
“Responsible gaming is an important issue and as an industry we will continue to collaborate to ensure that any unique functionality required to assist vendors in providing solutions addressing this is available,” said Peter DeRaedt, President of the GSA. “It is exciting to see the growing number of solution providers joining our standards setting organization to continuously address the unique industry challenges we are faced with."
“Techlink recognizes the complexities of an evolving entertainment gaming industry,” said John Xidos, President and CEO, Techlink Entertainment. “Our work in Responsible Gaming, specifically our Gameplan system, has been developed with the hopes of achieving an effective balance between the revenue interests of our customers and the welfare of their players globally.”
In operation since 1998, GSA facilitates the identification, definition, development and implementation of open standards to enable innovation, education and communication for the benefit to the gaming industry worldwide. The association counts among its members industry giants such as Aristocrat Technologies, Bally Technologies, Harrah’s Entertainment and 3M Touch Systems. As well, major North American lottery operations are part of the association.
“We are looking forward to playing a key role in working with the GSA to define and shape standards. We recognize GSA standards will provide protocols that allows them to offer unique products addressing responsible gaming,” said Xidos.
Responsible Gaming technologies can curtail the risks associated with gambling. Techlink’s Responsible Gaming system, Gameplan™, is recognized internationally as a foremost Responsible Gaming system. The system exceeds current industry standards and is proven to be effective in mitigating player risks by providing players with the information and tools they need to make informed decisions to play responsibly.
